Energetics

The seeds are neutral in temperature and sweet (pumpkin seeds are warm and also bitter). The combination is nourishing for the Yin, Blood, Qi and Jing (essence). The soy sauce is cool and salty, so helpful for those with Kidney deficiency. They make a great snack on their own or with dried or fresh fruit, or sprinkled on salads.

Ingredients

50g sesame seeds
100g pumpkin seeds
100g sunflower seeds
25g golden linseeds
15g chia seeds
1 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp olive oil

Method

Preheat the oven to 200°C (Fan 180°C, Gas mark 6)

Put all of the seeds in an oven dish, pour over the olive oil and soy sauce and mix well. Spread the seeds out and put in the oven for 7-10 minutes until the pumpkin seeds have puffed up. Stir once or twice in this time to ensure the seeds are toasted evenly.
Allow to cool then store in a sealed jar.
